OpenCensus / OpenTelemetry

I'm looking to integrate OpenCensus/OpenTelemetry with my projects. I see
Erlang projects for both. My first target is Google Cloud Monitoring for
custom metrics. I see support for tracing but not metrics. Am I missing
something or do I just need to contribute it myself?
