I second the juniors/seniors split since it has worked well for OCaml.

I humbly offer http://groups.google.com/group/think_erlang/ as the  
newbie list/group/forum.

I think the name is appropriate and I made membership open so anyone  
can join now. We could return to discussing the heavy-duty stuff on  
Erlang-Questions and discuss Erlang vs. Ruby at Think_Erlang.
