What ever happened to Erlang-processor (IBM's Cell-proc is hw-JVM)

Hello,

for those who are interested in changing programming paradigms as CPU
frequencies seem to be maxed out (for now, at least. Perhaps asynchronous
circuit make single threaded performance rise again in some years to come)
and are bound to be CMP/SMT -processors, there are interesting article in
The Register about IBM's Cell-processors and how it is a kind of hw-JVM.
Look at http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/01/13/ibm_cell_chip/ Now
obviously comes a question to my mind --- what ever happened to
Erlang-processor?

Have a nice read.
