erlang and dde

Hi, I have a situation that requires building a DDE
(http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/winui/
winui/windowsuserinterface/dataexchange/dynamicdataexchange.asp) monitor
and making it accessible via the command line. The monitor needs to be
able to be queried for specific events, and return the data related to
those events. I was thinking that Erlang might be a good solution, as I
worry about having a lot of possible messages being exchanged. 

 

So has anyone done anything with using Erlang to monitor DDE?
