[erlang-questions] Reltool, system crashes and ports

I was testing reltool the other day. I opened up the window and was moving apps around, then I closed the window. And the beam crashed with "Bus error"! This happened consistently every time I ran reltool. This started me reflecting on why we originally made it so that ports ran things in other OS processes, and how good a choice this was for reliable systems.
