Were you using the unstable 1.3.x series by any chance? We have a number of
sites on mongodb and had zero issues with it. I'm usually on the mongodb irc
channel and I've never seen anyone complain about losing data.
I would definitely recommend MongoDB for a NoSQL project. It's very fast
(memcached levels fast) and has the most flexible query system of all NoSQL
dbs. The developers (10gen) are also very responsive if you are having any
issues with it.
