Of course the erlide code can be reused - the Eclipse license is meant
to allow commercial use of open-source code. And I'm here to answer if
there are any questions.

Regarding the other opinions about Eclipse, I confess I'm not utterly
thrilled about it either, but it is what's doing the best job so far.
Yes, there are still quirks and bugs and so, but having all that
momentum behind it means they will probably get fixed faster than if
there was a single developer doing all the work. Yes, it is Java and
thus not C, but I can't say I notice any difference on my machine.
