Erlang (mild) PL buzz

I see that Erlang is getting mentioned here and there
in the academic lit, in this case PLDI 2005. For
instance, the bit syntax is mentioned in related work
in 

PADS: A domain-specific language for processing ad hoc
data, Kathleen Fisher and Robert Gruber.

Also, Erlang is mentioned in passing in:

Threads Cannot Be Implemented As A Library, Hans-J.
Boehm.

Fame at last? :-)
