Will there be a version that compiles just with Cygwin?
(And, preferrably, emits code that uses mingw32, i.e. doesn't use the 
cygwin DLL...)

Hmm... 12 MB tarball each time there's a new  version... having a web 
interface that allowed downloading just the diffs would definitely be an 
improvement.
