[erlang-questions] automatic etags and emacs

I've discovered the ETAGS feature, and it sounds promising.But it appears that one would need to recreate etags for every new function written.Did anyone add etags to flymake or found a way to automatically run etags after every file save?how would you use etags in a project containing many applications? one per application or one for the entire project.Would you add it to the git repo?
