[erlang-questions] Quick diversion into Lisp - Emacs mode problems

Does anybody else out there use Emacs Erlang mode with Xemacs ? I seem to get a lot of trouble with it.

The most common error is

Wrong type argument: stringp, nil
The stacktrace shows looking-at called with nil but it isn't clear why.

Though getting a stacktrace isn't difficult it doesn't really explain what is going wrong even with a little experience in Lisp.
