[erlang-questions] Why some functions are not documented

Hi,
I found that there are many functions exported in edoc_lib module, but I wanted to know why those are not documented.
I wanted to encode a http url and was able to do with this edoc_lib:escape_uri() but luckily found in some website about this function.
