[erlang-questions] What is the best way to parse complex erlang terms in port drivers?

Hi there,

I’m developing an erlang port driver in which I have to parse rather complex erlang terms.
I’ve found that there are different APIs that can be used, so what is the difference between  erl_eterm API (www.erlang.org/doc/man/erl_eterm.html<http://www.erlang.org/doc/man/erl_eterm.html>), ei API (http://www.erlang.org/doc/man/ei.html)?
What is the best way to parse complex erlang terms in linked in drivers?
