[erlang-questions] Error building R12B-4 on Ubuntu 8.04

I just built R12B-4 from scratch on Ubuntu 8.04+updates.

My make output over the same section was:

/usr/local/src/otp_src_R12B-4/bin/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/hipe_mkliterals
-e > hipe_literals.hrl
erlc -W  +debug_info +warn_obsolete_guard +inline -o../ebin
hipe_rtl_arch.erl
erlc -W  +debug_info +warn_obsolete_guard +inline -o../ebin
hipe_tagscheme.erl

I assume you have tried to configure and make from a clean copy?
