distribution not working

Hi again!

This time it is a FAQ type of question, but I can't find the answer...

I am running 2 nodes on the same machine. The distribution works okay when running with short names, but not when running with long ones... why is that? I am running on Windows, and on a LAN. Does it have to do with DNS and such?
