I am interested in this too.  I noticed under load Erlang does not properly close sockets and produces a read error on the peer.  I documented the behavior in this issue apr_socket_connect(): Connection reset by peer (104) · Issue #1 · vans163/stargate

Was socket monitoring implemented?

If not, then is there a way to monitor, on a server, when a client closes a socket?
