Can you point us to documentation for some other project
where this works? If I search for "Java String split" Google
offers
  - a Stack Overflow question
 >> the top of the java.lang.String page for Java 1.7
  - something from Tutorialspoint
  - something from Mkyong.com
  - two pages from JavaDevNotes.com
  ...
all of which are on topic, but for none of which does it take
me anywhere but the top of the page. Similarly, searching
for "Haskell Data.List reverse" takes me to the top of the
Data.List.html page, not to the reverse function. (It's a
pity that we're still getting the 1.7 link instead of a 1.8
link; that's why I keep a copy of the 1.8 docs on my laptop.)

"erlang lists flatmap" takes you to the top of the lists.html
page, true. When you get there, the navbar on the left shows
an alphabetic list of functions, and flatmap/2 is about half
way down that list, so it's one more click to get there. This
is as good as I've seen for any other language.
