Usually the Ubuntu and Debian repositories are behind by at least 1-2
releases, so it is often better to roll your own release. 18.1 is probably
going out this week (maybe today), and it will contain every fix for the
point releases 18.0.x.

Your problem may be another one. If the binary space keeps growing, you
need to use a tool like recon to hunt for the processes to which the
binaries are leaking.
