Could it be that you (or Erlang) have over-estimated the value of a
hypermarketing^Whyperthread so they're treading on each others's feet and
you'd benefit from fewer schedulers ? Even if you believe hyperthreads are
useful having fewer schedulers would surely reduce the likelihood of
locking contention.
