Hi Max,
I know this, I already did some tests for rpm. I understand, now, why I like Debian family OS...  :-)
debbie is not «yet another external commands wrapper» . you can create a (multi-platform) .deb on a windows machine without cygwin.
You are free to integrate it to epm, to get rid of external executable...
