The font is from Wings3D, see https://github.com/bjorng/wings

I don't know if is documented .. I doubt it.
You can drop in other wings fonts .. it should work fine.

I only needed it to render very simple images for offline webpages and
javascript was not an option at the time.
Nowadays there are a ton of js solutions for this so egd is no longer
developed.
