Hi,

just stumbled upon these slides:

LibreSSL - An OpenSSL replacement.
The first 30 days, and where we go from here.

http://www.openbsd.org/papers/bsdcan14-libressl/mgp00001.html

They seem to have made good progress so far (and OpenSSL seems to be
more horrible that I thought so far).

The longer term goals are interesting for OTP's use also:

Longer Term Goals

- Provide a better (replacement, reduced) API

- Reduce code base even more.

- Split out non-crypto things from libcrypto

- Split libcrypto from libssl.

Since OTP seems to only use libcrypto, having a separate sane version
of it looks like a good thing.

Cheers,
-- Peer
