[erlang-questions] gen_server doesn't respond

Ok, I'll prepare to share the code in some way.

In the meantime, just to get some hint can any of below be potentially
block or synchronous at least to make the system very slow?
 - lager:log
 - proc_lib:spawn_link
 - timer:send_after
 - gen_server:cast
 - erlang:garbage_collect
