Which OS do You use? If You're running the "avahi" daemon on Ubuntu You may run into different problems. May old solution was to remove the avahi-daemon, but recently I started to tweak the avahi configuration instead (I only had to change the value for "domain-name" in "/etc/avahi/avahi-daemon.conf"). - boris
