[erlang-questions] Build failing on Ubuntu 8.10

Hi there,

I am trying to build the latest release on Ubuntu 8.10, using a --prefix=/home/... 
./configure fails with the error below.
I tried to install more ncurses libs but it did not help.

Can someone please advise?
