may be it's time to contribute to http://openmoko.com/
writing a binding would be not so complicated (gtk and matchbox2)
the GUI is well defined to be easy to add "graphical plugins"
i'm running an erlang server application 24/7 on an equivalent  
hardware platform for one year now.
