Hey, you're right! I hadn't noticed. It is clearly friday.

I'm guessing it isn't compiled with readline - it behaves rather strange 
when I press enter :

  $ /cygdrive/c/Program\ Files/erl5.5.1/bin/erl.exe
  Eshell V5.5.1  (abort with ^G)
  1>
  1.1
  .
  1.10000
  2>
