This works just fine. I'm using it all the time.
The SSL patch (esock.c buffersize) posted by Johan 
Bevemyr a couple of times must be applied though.

It appears on the contrary to be ssl + win32 that
is the most pain. SSL/erlang in bsd/linux runs and compiles
just fine.
