A year ago, when I was trying to convince my 
then-company to use Erlang, an event-alarm app was part 
of the goodies I listed. It's consistent with the sort 
of systems Erlang is very suitable for.

I'm not convinced I would have ended up actually using 
it, as against rolling our own.

And these days, I have no use for it: I'm more 
interested in the pure Erlang language than in OTP and 
the apps.
