There seem to be some ongoing alternative projects on may people's
harddrives :-) I think it is very good that those come up now, as there are
many ways to handle GUIs and we can choose the best ones.

Joe's ex11 has one big advantages: he took the matter in his hands and
published something that works and has a very nice architecture. It should
work with esdl and OpenGL, the only needed thing is a X-like server
implementation that uses them :-) Piece of cake, right?

Actually, it maybe isn't very difficult. If full X protocol is wanted, then
the sheer amount of work is intimidating; but it may be enough with a small
subset.

BTW, Joe, why not make the X driver a plugin for the polyport?
