xmerl newlines

I get newlines when I export using xmerl_xml.erl in
xmerl-0.18. Maybe I have hacked my version and forgotten
about it... (:

Perhaps Richard or Johan can explain if something has
changed in this regard (lots changed between 0.15 and 0.18,
but this one I don't recall.)
