how to start megaco

Hi,
i am new to erlang. i have installed linux version of erlang
R8B-0 on redhat 6.2.
i wanted to run erlang media gateway controller. ( i need
udp text encoding configuartion ).

If i execute
megaco_simple_mgc:start().
in the erlang shell it gives following output
{error,{start_user,megaco_not_started}}

Please inform me how to start.
