XML and Erlang: Think different !


XML is not just about tagged serialized data
XML is also about tree and hierarchical data
The developper does not have to handle XML-formatted data in his programs.

In our project, the XML formalism is used for inputs and outputs, based on Ulf Wiger's XMErl:
XMErl is fast and reliable
It works for us on thousands of XML files
XMerl is doing a really great job for us

XML can be directly used as a tree data structure to avoid multiple parsing cost
XML can be stored in a database like Mnesia to fasten processing and search
