10.9.2 (with --enable-darwin-64bit):

Note that on OS X Cocoa environment wx:demo() still looks unstable, while
observer:start() works OK.  This is a huge advantage.

Note 2: on FreeBSD 10.0-STABLE amd64 with wxgtk 2.8.12 (from Ports) works just
fine on 17.0-rc2.
