[erlang-questions] What is shutdown_error?

What is shutdown_error? I can't figure out what to make of shutdown_error;
all I can find is a brief mention that it exists in sasl docs. Full error:

Supervisor foo_sup had child foo_server started with
foo_server:start_link() at <0.379.0> exit with reason killed in context
shutdown_error
