For sure, if you have an interest in this specific topic (i.e. SSL in
RabbitMQ), the below page is worth reading as it provides some
perspective from the RabbitMQ team. The document includes a section on
"bugs in new_ssl":

Note when reading the speed at which many earlier bugs in new_ssl were
resolved; So while the TLS effort for the platform is making enormous
strides and the response is fast, the library still isn't what you
could call "mature".
