[erlang-questions] gen_tcp:connect

I tried this:
gen_tcp:connect(www.google.com,80,[binary,{packet,0}]).
Same result.
firewall problem ?

The server has been down since saturday evening local time
until monday 14:28. Sorry about that.
Can this be the problem? Otherwise maybe an HTTP proxy?
