[erlang-questions] Not an Erlang fan

As with any language, it's hard to make final conclusions when you barely know anything about it.  Now, having said that, text processing regardless the source is a basic necessity particularly nowadays, and I wonder what improvements are in store for Erlang in the near future in this area.
