[erlang-questions] beginner: Binaries in tv

I love using the table viewer (tv) for debugging my database code.
Unfortunately tv gets very unhelpful when dealing with Character Data
encoded as Binary (see http://static.23.nu/md/Pictures/ZZ271508DF.png for an
example):

tv displays only "#Bin". Is there a way to make tv display binaries like the
erlang shell does? E.g. <<"some text">> instead of just #Bin?
