[erlang-questions] suitability of erlang for large-scale datastore

Would erlang be a good choice for creating, for
example, a very high-traffic ftp server?

The concurrency model is very alluring with regard to
many concurrent ftp clients, but are there issues with
disk io performance and/or moving large chunks of
memory through such a system?  Any apparent
performance bottlenecks?

What would be some of the other
advantages/disadvantages of using erlang to build such
a thing?
