erlmerge on Windows?

perhaps it is possible to switch from gnu autotools to something that is 
available for both unix and windows? (ie, erlang itself)

if/when(?) erlmerge becomes possible to install somewhere else than in 
the erlang/otp distribution i would be happy to help removing the 
os:cmd/1 calls. the ones i have seen i know how to replace.
