Just an idea: the Java folks have created the Java Lobby network, see http://www.javalobby.org/
What about an Erlang lobby ? :)

Further on, offer of free server side accounts could also boost a platform's popularity.
(An example is www.myjavaserver.com - used to be mycgiserver.com :o )

Of course, this needs security and separation of users, and sponsors/hosting too :)
Any solutions for the first one in Erlang ?
