Erlang behing firewall ... again

Is it common knowledge, how one could use Erlang nodes through the
firewall with ssh port forwarding.

I quess, that something like 
ssh -f -C -N -R/L port:host:port sshmachine
and
erl -name test -kernel inet_dist_list_min port 

should do it? I have played with those options, bug so far I only get
pang ...

Or is there already a general single port UBF node/repeater in the works
... maybe implementing several nodes, which just forward the messages to
mirror nodes and then ... I should not think at the same time type :)
