UBF seems quite similar to several other formats that attempt to map
more closely to programming language data models than XML does, and that
were designed at least partly as reactions against XML's complexity -- for
example

  - Waterken doc (http://www.waterken.com/dev/Doc/)
  - YAML (http://www.yaml.org/)

It would be useful to consider to what extent they can be unified.
