erlang P2P network

Joe mentioned once that he was looking for people to
donate servers to set up an erlang P2P network.  I am
preparing to order and assemble a new machine with
at least a firewall and one erlang node, although I want
ultimately to have multiple nodes and a backend to access
a local network for disk storage and database access.

What was the desire for a P2P network?  How would you
use it? Is anyone still interested in having one?  Any
particular features you would expect it to have?
