List comprehensions are a recent feature in Erlang, thus not described
in the Erlang book. However there is quite good documentation for 
them online:

ps. Erlang has many other nixw features like higher order functions and
records not detailed in the book, so reading the whole "new features"
(not really new anymore) might be wise...
