If I remember correctly, High-Level PLEX came out much later than
Erlang, and in fact so was features in Erlang a source of inspiration to
the High-Level PLEX designers. There were even some discussion if
it would be possible to run Erlang directly on the processor for the
big Ericsson switch AXE (however that machine was not a stack
machine so it would have been a "nice cludge", but everything is
possible....). Fortunately, this did never happend.
