about gen_event

Hello all,

I've spent a week or more with setting up a framework for
some equipment management. After I got it work, I've realised
that what i made was very alike to OTP's gen_event event manager module.
So it seems that I reinvented the wheel again.
Now I'm thinking about pushing my ideas into the gen_event concept.
For helping me with this:
COULD ANYONE SHOW ME PAPERS about USING GEN_EVENT.
