If you do 'git commit --amend' you will have force the push
using the -f option.

Are you sure that you have pushed the correct branch?
The branch does not look wonky to me and I don't see
any merge commit made by you.

You should check 'pu' when I'll have pushed to make
sure that it has the expected version of your branch.
