It depends on the patch, but it is our intention to try and handle 
branches in 'pu' quickly and then merge
approved patches into 'dev'. A large patch or a patch with new features, 
like yours, normally takes a little longer to process. I don't think
you'll have to wait for the next major release before receiving feedback 
from us.
